Although I am a deep admirer of 6 inch Louboutin’s, sometimes it just isn’t feasible.  Designers are updoing the basic flat. There are so many different styles when it comes to flat shoes. Pointy flat shoes really dress up a look, especially when accented with details, but do make your feet look bigger. Mature women can rock the Mary Jane’s, but I think shoes really need to fit the women. Flats can be so expressive, yet comfortable. A little detail goes a long way, have fun flats. Just because you’re in flats, doesn’t mean you can’t look good. A little detail goes a long way.

Kate Spade for the office, and even evening wear. Jeweled suede flat is a hot mature look. Kate has a lot of great whimsical designs; and is the soul sister in flats. I dig how many of her shoes are embellished with rhinestones in a clever way.

Marc Jacob’s round-ology in yellow. These would look great with grey jeans, boyfriend blazer, stripped shirt, over sized beanie and sun glasses.

Salvatore Ferragamo does classic shoes with a signature bow. Luxury and comfort go hand in hand.

Tod’s, the Italian luxury brand has nailed down the perfect driving shoe that has a true undertone of wealth. I love driving shoes, often desinger shoes have leather or wooden soles; not so optimal in rain and people who walk on anything but plush carpet.

Aerosoles are a great choice when comfort is your top priority. They mix high end fabrics with a comfortable luxury flair. This “printz charming” flat would be a cool twist to jeans and a t-shirt.

October 20th is now called Spirit Day. This was created by teenager Brittany McMillan earlier this month. Wearing purple is an attempt to get people to rally together and show support to youth who face bullying. Wearing purple October 20th is a community effort to support the bullied youth. It also honors those teenagers who have taken their lives in recent weeks. The color purple is worn because it symbolizes “spirit” on the rainbow flag, which is a symbol for LGBT pride.

GLAAD has made an application that will make Facebook and Twitter pictures purple in honor of the day. Many statuses also reflect similar sentiments, explaining what the day is and encouraging others to participate. I love purple, but on October 20th it gives special meaning. As inspiration, I have collected some of my favourite aubergine passion pieces.

Michelle Obama who often sports Narciso Rodriguez. Wear that purple girl.

Christian Louboutin. I’m Ready to Rock out.

To work with DVF I go, I think so.
